DIRECTING
Directing (verb): to serve the story and your collaborators

"Dryland" at Boston University
As a Director, Emma specializes in musical theatre. She is drawn to the collaborative nature of bringing together all the artistic mediums, and the idea of stories and feeling being too big for simple spoken text.
Emma believes that musical theatre should be allowed to get a little messy; she seeks to produce work that illuminates the female experience, and stories that speak to community. She also believes “overdone” works have timeless stories and universal truths attached, and finding new approaches in a new time keeps their truth alive and breathing in the current time.
