DIRECTING
Emma believes directing is about service; to serve your collaborators, to serve the audience, and most importantly - to serve the story.
Emma is director who builds everything up from the story. She is not someone who believes in always having a "concept" - but rather taking strong ideas and building blocks from the text and music, and showcasing what is already there.

As a director, Emma specializes in musical theatre. She is drawn in by the collaborative nature of bringing together song, movement, storytelling, and visual design. Emma is passionate about presenting theatrically in a way that still feels intimate and important.
Emma believes musical theatre should be allowed to get a little messy, and she specifically enjoys working on rock musicals. Thematically, Emma is attracted to female centric stories, queer stories, shows that focus on community, coming of age stories, and she is a sucker for an underdog.
